Republicans won the House and will have the opportunity to govern the chamber as they see fit, but based on the first few weeks, we are getting the sense they won’t be prioritizing the needs and challenges of Americans in PA-04 and nationwide.

FIRST: In a show of failed leadership and historic division, House Republicans took days to select a Speaker.

THEN: After 15 rounds of votes, Kevin McCarthy secured the votes he needed to win the speakership – making concession after concession along the way to the farthest-right members of his caucus (the details of which we’ve yet to fully learn).

NOW: The House GOP is finally getting to work. Their agenda so far? Helping corporations and the ultra-wealthy evade their fair share of taxes and imposing a national sales tax that would be devastating for the middle class.

Last Congress, our Democratic majority prioritized the kitchen table issues impacting Americans nationwide. No matter who is in the majority, Mad and House Dems remain committed to putting people over politics.
