Prediabetes CDC Announcement
Nearly 1 in 5 adolescents ages 12 to 18, and 1 in 4 young adults ages 19 to 34 are living with prediabetes, according to a new CDC study published in JAMA Pediatrics. There are several ways state and local organizations can create a supportive environment to promote healthy weight and help prevent diabetes related to obesity. States and communities can work with early care and education centers and schools to improve healthy food and beverage offerings and opportunities for physical activity for children. New Medication for Seizures and Epilepsy
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved a diazepam nasal spray as an acute treatment of intermittent, stereotypic episodes of frequent seizure activity (ie, seizure clusters, acute repetitive seizures) that are distinct from a patient’s usual seizure pattern in people with epilepsy 6 years of age and older.
