When a campaign is targeted by a powerful political group like the National Republican Campaign Committee, with challengers jumping in the race against me, some people say it’s like walking into a buzzsaw.

For some campaigns that’s true. But what’s different about our campaign is you, because I know I can count on you to step up when I need you most.

While I’m busy working to pass legislation that helps people, it seems like every day more challengers are jumping in the race against me. One new challenger just posted more than $200,000 in fundraising in their very first report, and outside groups are already lining up their attacks in an attempt to take back the House and roll back the progress we’ve made.

Instead of leveling attacks and trying to divide people, I’m hopeful that the politics of division doesn’t impede our work on behalf of the people. We're taking care of our veterans, keeping oil rigs away from our beaches, protecting our communities and military bases from climate change and rising seas, making health care and prescription drugs more affordable, and ensuring our economy works for everyone. There’s so much at stake in this election, and these issues I listed just scratch the surface of what we're working on.

I’m focused on serving Floridians in Congress, fighting for our shared values -- and I always will. But only if I can count on your support when I need it most.
