While other candidates for Lt. Governor have given timid proposals to help rebuild rural North Carolina, I am the only candidate who has offered a bold plan to give our rural neighbors the economic jolt they need.
Controlled cannabis grown by North Carolina farmers will be an economic lifeline for parts of the state that are close to economic depression. Controlled cannabis will generate more than $450 million in new taxes that can be used to increase pay for classroom teachers and help shore up our ailing community mental healthcare delivery system.
It’s time to shut down the black markets and take control of cannabis once and for all. We need to regulate it, control access, tax it and demand that North Carolina is allowed to grow it.
