Game. Changer! Yesterday, Virginia became the 38th state to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). Amending the United States Constitution requires the ratification of 38 states.
Gender equality is a critical part of the work to increase access to abortion and advance reproductive justice. Give now to celebrate the ERA and gear up for the next step.
The next step is to duke it out in the courts. On one side is a president who has bragged about sexually assaulting women, his administration, and his enablers, including abortion opponents. On another side is a long history of amendments to the Constitution taking years and years – sometimes more than two hundred, far more than ERA – and the will of the people.
Abortion opponents are running scared because they know gender equality and abortion bans don’t mix. I’m proud that nobody fights anti-abortion misinformation and oppression like Reproaction. Give now because the anti-abortion freak out over gender equality is only beginning, and we have every intention of playing to win.
