Friend ? last week, the Trump administration announced its plan to gut the National Environmental Policy Act, a bedrock environmental law requiring federal agencies to do impact studies and solicit public input before starting infrastructure projects like highways and pipelines.

We've just learned a new dark money group bankrolled by corporate polluters will spend at least $5 million to flood the comment period with support for this disastrous policy.

This is big. There is a 60-day window for public comment that the Trump administration is supposed to consider before the proposed change can take effect. With this new announcement of millions in corporate spending, we need to organize in a serious way. We'll train and fund organizers on the ground around the country, flood and House and Senate offices with letters and calls, and overwhelm federal agencies with public comments.

This policy would also be a huge blow to communities of color and Indigenous communities. These communities are more likely to live near these projects, and are also most likely to feel the impacts of climate change and cumulative exposure to air and water pollution, which the Trump administration doesn't want considered in projects' environmental review. And that's not all ? the Trump administration is also trying to make it harder for people to provide input, putting up hurdles and narrowing the scope of projects that even get reviewed. Gutting NEPA is the Trump administration's latest attempt at silencing frontline voices and entrenching environmental racism.
