As one of our team's most dedicated and generous donors, I am continually in awe of the support that you give to our movement. And as we begin strategizing and building our campaign in 2023, I know that we won't be able to do this without you, John.
Since the start of the new Congressional term, our campaign has seen a drastic decrease in contributions and support — and I understand why. We just finished a dramatic and challenging election cycle, one where we faced major redistricting and conservative challengers fighting to strip us of our voter power. And now that the immediate threat of a challenger has passed, it could seem like the urgency to build our campaign's momentum has also subsided.
As a grassroots campaign, we don't have millionaires in our back pocket, ready and waiting to bail our movement out at the slightest sign of distress. We rely on supporters like you and small-dollar donations to power our movement to victory and keep us on track to make transformative change to our democracy.
