A helicopter carrying senior Ukrainian officials crashed on Wednesday in a Kyiv suburb, damaging a kindergarten and a residential tower and killing more than a dozen people, including Ukraine’s minister of internal affairs and other pivotal figures in the wartime leadership, as the NYT reports

Sharp Greenland Warming Spike

A sharp spike in Greenland temperatures since 1995 showed the giant northern island 2.7 degrees (1.5 degrees Celsius) hotter than its 20th-century average, the warmest in more than 1,000 years, according to new ice core data released in a study by the Alfred Wegener Institute in Germany, as the AP reports
