Yesterday, the Franklin County, Ohio recorder announced that under Ohio’s new voter suppression law, free veteran ID cards issued by Ohio counties appear to no longer be valid forms of ID for voting. Here are some updates from today.

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) submitted a brief in a lawsuit challenging True the Vote, a right-wing “election integrity” organization, for its alleged voter intimidation in Georgia leading up to the 2021 Senate runoffs. The DOJ was invited by the court to respond to the defendants’ argument that Section 11(b) of the Voting Rights Act, which prohibits voter intimidation, is unconstitutional. [link removed]

Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen (R), in his first official act, withdrew from the Electronic Registration Information Center, a nonprofit organization that shares voter registration data between 33 states. [link removed]
