Waterkeeper Urges EPA to Quickly Address Widespread PFAS Contamination

Waterkeeper Alliance sent a letter to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) urging the agency to take up the recommendations outlined in our report on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) contamination in American waterways.

Waterkeeper Alliance, an advocacy organization of more than 300 community-based Waterkeeper groups worldwide, maintains that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule, which defines all waters that fall under U.S. federal jurisdiction, requires a broad definition under the Clean Water Act.

John Peach has been the Upper St Lawrence Riverkeeper since 2018, but his love for the river goes much further back. He is working to keep the river safe from oil spills, over development, PFAS, and lots more.
