Give Now to Protect America's Earned Benefits

Dear John,

Buckle up, my fellow seniors! Because the next two years are shaping up to be a turbulent time for your Social Security and Medicare benefits.

As you know, there are now right-wing members of the Republican Party who appear to be calling the shots in the House of Representatives. And they feel emboldened and empowered to sacrifice your earned benefits on the altar of deficit reduction.

According to U.S. Representative Michael Waltz (FL-06), “If we really want to talk about the debt and spending, it’s the entitlement programs.” And by “entitlements” he’s talking about the programs that seniors like you have paid into and earned during your lifetime of work.

That’s why the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare isn’t waiting for the first grenade to be launched against your benefits. We need to mobilize now to protect Social Security and Medicare from those who will try to ram through legislation that guts these programs under the guise of reducing soaring budget deficits.

Please chip in a supporting gift today of $10 or $5 to help us prepare for the historic legislative battles ahead when we expect to see your earned benefits land on the chopping block in Washington, DC.

We need you and all workers and retirees who have a stake in the outcome of these looming battles over the future of Social Security and Medicare to support our urgent advocacy, media and public outreach work to protect your earned benefits.

Any gift, in any amount you can afford to donate, will be greatly appreciated and go to the frontlines of the National Committee’s full-scale battle to stop right-wing politicians from destroying our nation’s safety net programs while they keep cutting taxes for the wealthy.

Sincerely,

Max Richtman
President & CEO
