Lev Parnas Docs Suggest U.S. Ambassador Was Under Surveillance
Newly-released text messages reveal Rudy Giuliani associate Lev Parnas discussing how to stalk “that b***” Marie Yovanovitch in Ukraine in a bid to get her fired.
A lawyer for the former U.S. ambassador told MSNBC Tuesday that an investigation should be launched into whether she was monitored in Kiev.
“[T]he notion that American citizens and others were monitoring Amb. Yovanovitch's movements for unknown purposes is disturbing. We trust that the appropriate authorities will conduct an investigation.”
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) also called for a probe, tweeting:
"It is outrageous that the President’s personal lawyers appear to have directed the surveillance of a U.S. ambassador. This must be fully investigated as the Senate conducts the impeachment trial. We have a responsibility to hold this lawless administration to account."
Yovanovitch testified in November about how she was ousted in her position following a Giuliani-led smear campaign that accused her of working to subvert Trump’s Ukraine policy and being close to former Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko.
Do you support a probe into whether Yovanovitch was monitored in Ukraine?
