  • During the 2022 BOE election, a member of the NJ Legislature sent mailers featuring him and extremist BOE candidates (who advocated book banning and accused school staff of being pedophiles and groomers). The Assemblyman also hosted and promoted a rally for these people. Is such partisan involvement of an elected official legal, ethical, and appropriate?

  • Can you discuss and mention names of current school employees (ex: superintendent, teachers, administrators) while campaigning to get on the Board of Education?

  • Can you use the public school directory — either a published and distributed copy or an online copy on the school website — to use for campaigning?
