With an unprecedented start to the congressional session, plagued by fighting amongst Republicans, the House GOP majority have shared their agenda for this term of Congress.

As someone with a background in science and medicine, I am alarmed by the reversals they want to make to the Inflation Reduction Act, the proposed handouts to Big Oil, and the two anti-choice measures proposed.

Anti-science Republicans have shown time and again that they’re not interested in facts or even in the health of the American people. Instead they’re all about proving their far-right MAGA credentials.

One of their proposals is to make the dangerous Hyde Amendment permanent law, which will make legal, safe abortions harder to obtain.

A red wave didn’t materialize in large part because voters knew congressional Republicans want nothing more than to ban all reproductive rights nationwide.
