The University Bookman, 2019
------------------------------------------------------------
Hello John,
This year marks The University Bookman’s ([link removed]) sixtieth year of reviewing the books that build culture.
Over these six decades, the journal has moved from print to online publication and has grown to include essays and interviews as well as reviews on the most important books of our age, all in light of what Russell called the "permanent things."
In 2019, Bookman readership grew to more than 200,000, with our reviews and essays being read online nearly 300,00 times. While other journals have adopted ads or put their best content behind paywalls, we continue to offer these reviews and essays free of charge.
Under editor Gerald Russello's capable leadership, I'm confident the Bookman will continue to provide a valuable service to imaginative conservatives throughout this new decade.
Please enjoy our ten most-read reviews and essays from 2019, and if you'd like to help us offer more reviews and expand the Bookman's reach, you can contribute here ([link removed]) . Thank you for reading, and please spread the word!
Sincerely,
Annette Kirk, President
The Russell Kirk Center for Cultural Renewal
