Yesterday at Greg Abbott and Dan Patrick’s inauguration we heard misplaced priorities that ignore the needs of working Texans.

Now that the partisan speeches are over, it’s the Legislature’s turn to act. In order to do what is right for working Texans, they must prioritize real issues that impact people in our state. That means – paying teachers and staff more, instead of diverting public education funds to private school vouchers; retaining healthcare workers and state employees; providing living wages and safe working conditions for construction workers; and investing in Texans who are trying to make ends meet.

Abbott and Patrick’s vision for Texas will leave millions on the outside looking in. So will you advocate for an agenda that lifts up and improves the lives of Texas workers and their families?
