Dear John,

Rep. George Santos grossly lied his way into office. Here’s the truth: there’s no place for a fraud in the House of Representatives. Sign the petition to demand Santos turn in his resignation immediately.

It’s a litany of lies almost too long to recount: invalid claims that he is the descendant of Holocaust survivors, falsehoods about his education and past employment, glaring gaps about his finances, and more.

The GOP has built a political party that’s completely divorced from reality. Allowing Santos, who has falsified his entire life story, to serve in the House of Representatives is an outrageous illustration of just how much the party will do to hoard power without any regard for the health of our democracy.

What Santos needs is accountability. Since the Republican caucus seems reluctant to give it to him, the responsibility falls to us. He must resign and give voters a chance to choose a representative who is honest about who they are.

All lies.¹ Santos continues to dig himself deeper into a hole, while lashing out and avoiding accountability. That has real implications going forward.

Instead of coming clean or focusing on his constituents, he'll now be tied up in investigations by local, state, federal, and even international authorities because of the long trail of deception and fraud that's just beginning to be uncovered.
