 TIPS:   Video Criteria

  • Choose a conservative topic that you want to talk about. It can be educational, personal, funny, or whatever you think gets the attention of the average public viewer. BE CREATIVE!
  • Title the video with your first and last name.
  • The video should be no longer than one minute.

  IDEAS:  Video Ideas and Examples

  • Share your vision of conservative America
  • Explain why conservative America is a healthy America
  • Make an ad for a candidate
  • Do a pretend newscast on an applicable topic
  • Tell us about an adversarial experience that strengthened your conservative values
  • Teach us about the importance of the Constitution

The key is to BE CREATIVE!  If you are just talking at a camera, you will not win!  Make it fun and interesting.  One student built a model of the Statue of Liberty while he spoke about America.  One student created a newscast featuring her as she spoke at a school board meeting.  Don’t bore us!

    Judging

The leadership team of True Texas Project will do the final judging based on personal opinion as well as feedback received from activists within our organization. The winners will be announced on April 21st, 2023, on our True Texas Project Facebook, Instagram, and website pages, and at our annual gala. Scholarships will be awarded at the students' baccalaureate programs. All decisions of the Board of True Texas Project are final and indisputable.

Submission Deadline: April 15th

Note:  the most common question we get is why we limit it to government school students.  This is strategic.  Our goal in offering this scholarship is to use it as an opportunity to make our work known to parents and staff who wouldn't otherwise hear from us.  We have other opportunities that are open to homeschool and private school students. This is just not one of them.
