This morning marked the beginning of another term for Governor Abbott and Lieutenant Governor Patrick. Today serves as a reminder of the stark contrast between Republicans’ conservative policies and the values that we stand for as Texas Democrats.

Prices for groceries and utility bills are still high, Friend -- and Texas families are still struggling. And as we sit on a $33,000,000,000 surplus, we have an opportunity to make a historic investment in the lives of Texans.

But Greg Abbott and Dan Patrick didn’t talk about investing in Texas families. Instead, they fell back into the same old tired culture war politics.

Texas Democrats are committed to building a better future for all Texans, and that starts with laying crucial groundwork right now. We’re working to support our elected Democrats by recruiting and training candidates up and down the ballot. And we’re working to spread the word about our mission to address the issues that affect the lives of everyday Texans.
