The YIMBY movement is growing and we want you to help lead it!

Our national mission to achieve abundant and affordable housing in all our communities is driven at the grassroots level by our activists and chapters. To build new homes across the country, we need leaders who take stances on policies, endorse candidates, plan events, and grow our movement.

These leaders - YIMBY Action Leads - get insider access to expertise in politics, legislation, organizing, and community-building. As part of a nationwide movement, they empower their chapter to make a meaningful difference in their communities. Serving as a Lead is a way to put your YIMBY values into action and gain valuable leadership experience.

If this sounds exciting to you, this is the time to step up! We are looking to build our 2023 Leads cohort and we encourage you to apply. The basic requirements – besides a passion for housing – are:

Time to volunteer (1-5 hours per week)
Willingness to learn and adapt
Curiosity about what others need and what works for your group

We want our leaders to reflect the diversity of our communities, so people of color, women, LGBTQ+ folks, and members of other underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply. We need you at the table!
