Getting this bill passed brings up a broader discussion about taxes in general. There are a lot of ideas out there and we will take a hard look at all of them. You can read more nonpartisan coverage of the new law from the House Public Information Services? Session Daily article here.?
More Tools to Address Violent Crime in Minnesota
Today, my bill cleared its first hurdle in the State and Local Government Finance and Policy Committee. I?m carrying HF 29, legislation to offer expanded legal services to Minnesota counties, which will ensure more swift criminal prosecution from experienced prosecutors.
I am hearing loud and clear from our neighbors and Minnesotans across the state; addressing crime is a concern, and everyone deserves to be safe, no matter where you live. The bill?s next stop is Ways and Means before a full House Floor vote in the coming weeks.
