Netherlands Weighs Sending Ukraine Patriot System

The Netherlands is considering sending a Patriot missile system to Ukraine, Prime Minister Mark Rutte said in Washington on Tuesday, which would broaden the West’s response to Kyiv’s urgent requests for the ground-based air defense system, as the NYT reports.

Gen. Milley Meets Ukrainian Counterpart Near Edge of War Zone

Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman Gen. Mark Milley met on Tuesday for the first time in person with his Ukrainian counterpart, traveling by vehicle from a base in Poland to an undisclosed location near the countries’ border, as The Washington Post reports.

China’s Shrinking Population

China’s latest economic data showed that the country’s zero-Covid policies led to one of the slowest growth rates in decades last year. But economists say another figure released the same day will be a bigger problem for China’s economy in the future: its shrinking population, as the WSJ reports.
