Hello Friend,
Last year, we grappled with the overturning of abortion rights as we knew
them with the destruction of Roe V. Wade by the far-right extremists on
the Supreme Court. We took to the streets, rallied, and fought hard to
ensure our abortion rights here in Nevada would remain untouched.
This year, we’ll be marking the anniversary of Roe V. Wade this weekend at
the Progressive Summit with an esteemed panel of experts on the issue of
abortion access and reproductive freedom.
On Sunday, what would have been the 50th anniversary of Roe V. Wade, our
very own Paula Luna will moderate a panel on the future of the fight for
abortion rights with Macy Haverda of the Wild West Fund, Victoria
Ruiz-Marin of Planned Parenthood Votes Nevada, Jen Ferris from ProgressNow
National, Imani Gandy of Rewire.News and Boom! Lawyered, and Shannon
Russell from Catholics for Choice.

That day, we’ll also be joined by Councilmember Rebecca Kaplan from
Oakland, California — the first non-binary and openly LGBTQ+ person
elected to public office in Oakland. Join us to learn about the power of
organizing and community during Councilmember Kaplan’s keynote address on
Sunday!
