Friend,

We’re just one week into the 118th Congress, and it’s been jarring to see how quickly the Republican majority has started to push its extreme right-wing agenda. They’re making no secret of what their priorities are.

Already, they’ve formally launched an effort to outlaw abortion nationwide with no exceptions, established a so-called “Select Committee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government” to attack law enforcement agencies that won’t do their bidding, and they introduced a bill that would help tax cheats avoid paying their share. To say I disagree with these policies would be an understatement, friend.

House Republicans grip onto their slim majority as captives of the far-right fringe. To combat this dangerous agenda, I will continue to do everything I can to protect reproductive freedom, support our law enforcement officers, and hold tax fraudsters accountable. 

In the meantime, we need to walk and chew gum at the same time by ensuring we hold onto this seat next election cycle. After winning by a razor-thin margin this past November, we can count on Republicans to throw all they have to flip this seat red.
