Dear John, Growing up, I watched my dad dedicate his life to the people of Northwest Indiana. He served in the Indiana General Assembly for over 40 years, and I saw firsthand the impact that a dedicated public servant can have on their community. It’s thanks to him that I live — and serve in Congress — by Northwest Indiana values. I’m committed to working for the people of Indiana’s 1st Congressional District and folks across the country. I am humbled and grateful to be able to continue fighting to protect access to health care, working families, and the steel industry in IN-01. As a team, we successfully defended this district from extremism and divisiveness. Now, we need to prepare for the next challenge.
It may seem like a small and simple action, but building early support is an important part of preparing for what will likely be a close race in 2024. The GOP put a target on this district in the last election, and we can expect to be up against their war chest and dark-money donors again in 2024. Adding your name as a community supporter is one of the several powerful ways — including chipping in, volunteering, or even just staying in the loop through emails like this one — to show our opponents that we’ll never stop working to find common-sense solutions to our most pressing problems.
