The 100% clean electricity bill would commit all utilities to provide their Minnesota customers with 100% carbon-free electricity by 2040, and the good news is that the bill is already making its way through the legislature with its first hearing tomorrow, January 18, in the House Climate and Energy Finance and Policy Committee. But this means that reaching out to your legislators is even more time-sensitive and urgent! Send your email now. ([link removed])

Two-thirds of Minnesotans ([link removed]) support the transition to clean electricity, and major Minnesota utilities like Xcel Energy ([link removed]) and Minnesota Power ([link removed]) are already on the path to 100%. The bill will also help encourage utilities to locate new clean energy facilities in communities where fossil-fuel plants are closing, do more to protect environmental justice communities, work to diversify the workforce at utilities, and more.
