Friends,

Whew! The past two weeks have been amazing!

First, the House Freedom Caucus asserted its influence against the Establishment Uniparty in Washington, enabling them to get massive concessions from Speaker McCarthy that will directly benefit taxpayers and the American public.

Then, this past week, almost all 50 states gaveled into their 2023 legislative sessions. That means your 10 state freedom caucuses were arming up to do battle on your behalf. And the battle has officially begun.

Before we give you a quick roundup of what’s happening in the states, here are some of the Network’s media hits that got national attention:
* SFCN President Andy Roth was in studio with Glenn Beck. Glenn and Andy shared ([link removed]) their mutual disgust at the corruption that is happening at the state level.
* Andy also penned an op-ed ([link removed]) in Townhall.com entitled, “The House Freedom Caucus Deserves Your Applause”.
* Andy was also on The Blaze’s Conservative Review podcast with Daniel Horowitz. They discussed ([link removed]) how to take the red states back from the RINOs.
* Lastly, Andy was a guest on the Family Research Council’s Washington Watch with former Congressman Jody Hice filling in for Tony Perkins. Here’s a clip ([link removed]) of that interview.

SOUTH CAROLINA

The speaker and majority leader of the state house are threatening to kick the 19 brave men and women in the South Carolina Freedom Caucus out of the House GOP caucus. What was their sin? They refused to sign a Stalinist “loyalty oath” meant to shut them down. From FITS News ([link removed]) :

This news outlet previously reported on some drama that went down during the House’s organizational session last month regarding a so-called “loyalty oath.” This oath – which is being pushed by new “Republican” majority leader Davey Hiott of Pickens County and S.C. speaker pro tempore Tommy Pope – would prohibit members from endorsing or campaigning on behalf of anyone challenging a GOP incumbent in next spring’s primary elections. It would also prohibit lawmakers from posting images of the House’s electronic voting board on their social media pages – and from discussing the “internal processes” behind House votes during public appearances. Basically it’s an incumbent protection ultimatum – accompanied by a muzzle.

House Freedom Caucus member, Rep. Ralph Norman, defended his friends in the SC Freedom Caucus in a Facebook post ([link removed]) . He wrote, “Duly elected Republicans in the South Carolina House of Representatives are apparently being told by leadership to sign an oath. Among other things, this oath strictly prohibits public discussion of things heard or discussed during any Caucus meeting or event. Who on earth thought of that? And who among us thinks that’s a good idea? It’s not.”

Former Senator Jim DeMint provided ([link removed]) air support as well: “Instead of threatening the SC Freedom Caucus, our state’s Republican leadership should be following their lead.”

If you want to help pile on, please call SC House Majority Leader Davey Hiott and let him know how you feel! His office number is (803) 734-3138.

ARIZONA

As Arizona Freedom Caucus member State Rep. Joseph Chaplick said ([link removed]) , “[Democrat Governor] Katie Hobbs is already violating our state Constitution and it took her less than a day.”

The governor issued an executive order that would expand anti-discrimination protections for state employees and contractors. While this might sound good, this “woke” order could negatively affect faith-based organizations – like foster care agencies – that contract with the state. As Arizona Freedom Caucus Chairman and State Senator Jake Hoffman said ([link removed]) , “If Katie Hobbs wants to legislate, she needs to get her butt out of the Governor’s Office and run for the legislature and come back and join us and do that job.”

Governor Hobbs also wants to defund Arizona’s new universal school choice program. AZFC member Alex Kolodin tweeted ([link removed]) , “Katie Hobbs claims she wants an "Arizona for everyone". Her budget says that poor kids need to stay in their lane - not darken the door of ritzy private schools like the one she went to. Guess they're no one. Let's put a skinny budget that preserves school choice on her desk!

IDAHO

IDFC member State Senator Chris Trakel recently spoke out against a local school board that is considering letting biological boys go into the girls’ locker room. His comments caught the national attention of Fox & Friends. Check out his interview here ([link removed]) .

Also in Idaho, liberal Republican Governor Brad Little proposed this week to give meritless pay raises to government-run schoolteachers. He also proposed the creation of a new tuition subsidy for higher education…rather than push aggressively for school choice. The Idaho Freedom Caucus quickly put out a statement saying, “[T]he governor gives a nod to socialism by increasing the pay for all, regardless of how good or bad a teacher may be.”

On the higher education subsidy, the Idaho Freedom Caucus wrote, “This is something we expect from the Biden administration, not from ‘conservative’ Idaho. Welfare education is a tool of socialist countries, not a path to limited government and fiscal conservatism.”

Meanwhile…state senators in the Idaho Freedom Caucus recently announced ([link removed]) their education savings account bill at a well-attended school choice townhall meeting.

If the governor’s not going to lead, the Idaho Freedom Caucus will!

ILLINOIS

“We don’t trust you…I can tell you that we will not comply. And you’re not going to do a darn thing about it because the law, the Constitution, and the founding principles are on our side!”

ILFC member Blaine Wilhour, directing his comments to the Democrats, said those passionate words after the Left passed an unconstitutional assault weapons ban. His floor speech ([link removed]) caught the attention of Tucker Carlson, who had him on his show last night. Watch it here ([link removed]) .

ILFC Chairman Chris Miller also gave a floor speech thanking the House Freedom Caucus in DC for fighting McCarthy and getting meaningful reforms. Watch here ([link removed]) .
