Hi there —

I wanted to make sure you saw Tracey’s message about Groundwork’s latest partnership with the NAACP. I’ve included it below, if you haven’t had a chance to take a look yet. The Organizing Accelerator is a brand-new national program designed to provide training, mentorship, and networking to young organizers in historically underinvested regions of the country. We could not be more excited and honored to partner with the NAACP to offer an opportunity that so perfectly aligns with our mission and values at Groundwork.

We will be back soon with more news and updates!

Friends,

On behalf of the entire Groundwork team, I am so excited to share some exciting news to kick off 2023: We’re teaming up with the NAACP this year to launch The Organizing Accelerator, a brand-new program to help train the next generation of organizers.

Together, we’ve developed a twenty-week training opportunity for emerging social justice advocates, civil rights leaders, and community organizers. True to Groundwork’s mission, the Accelerator will have a particular focus on increasing opportunity for young people from historically excluded and civically underfunded communities. We’re seeking to build a more representative bench of leaders and help ensure that every aspiring organizer out there has the chance to build a career in this work, no matter their zip code or background.

The Organizing Accelerator brings together the unique perspectives of the NAACP and Groundwork Project to focus on mentoring, training, and networking — here’s the program at a glance: [link removed]

This is our pilot year so we are deep in planning, dreaming, and building. We are committed above all else to making this a program by organizers, for organizers. We’re working closely with some incredible folks all across the country to develop a curriculum and experience that will make a real impact.

Founded by Joe Kennedy III, Groundwork Project invests in year-round, local community organizing in places Democrats have gotten used to writing off. With a focus on Appalachia, the Deep South, and the Plains, we support local advocates and activists working to build durable political infrastructure and secure power for those historically excluded.
