Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight reports that a flash poll they conducted after the debate showed a "breakout evening" for Warren: "She not only received the highest marks for her debate performance, but her scores were high even relative to her pre-debate favorability rating."

In the answer of the night, Warren hit a home run and ended the ended the electability question once and for all.

Here's one highlight of what Warren said:

"This question about whether or not a woman can be president has been raised and it's time for us to attack it head-on. And I think the best way to talk about who can win is by looking at people's winning record. So, can a woman beat Donald Trump? Look at the men on this stage. Collectively, they have lost ten elections. The only people on this stage who have won every single election that they've been in are the women: Amy and me...

"And the only person on this stage who has beaten an incumbent Republican anytime in the past 30 years is me. And here's what I know – the real danger that we face as Democrats is picking a candidate who can't pull our party together."

Warren was clear that we need to get our combat troops out of the Middle East. But she seamlessly returned to the overarching problem of corruption and, in this case, how it impacts our military.

Here's a highlight of what Warren said:

"I have three brothers who are in the military and I know how much our military families sacrifice. But I also know that we have to think about our defense in very different ways. We have to think about cyber. We have to think about climate. We also have to think about how we spend money.

We have a problem with a revolving door in Washington between the defense industry, the Department of Defense, and the Pentagon. That is corruption, pure and simple. We need to block that revolving door and cut our defense budget."

Warren reminded everyone that "we're going to be up against a Republican who has cut healthcare for millions of people" and said:

"People are suffering. 36 million people last year went to the doctor and got a prescription. This is what they needed to get well, and couldn't afford to have the prescription filled. They looked and said it's groceries or this.

"We have to get as much as help to as many people as quickly as possible. I worked out a plan we can do though without raising taxes on middle class families. What I can do as president on the first day is cut the cost of prescription drugs. I'll use the power that is already given to the president to reduce the cost of insulin and pens and HIV AIDS drugs."

Thanks for being a bold progressive.
