John, our Senate campaign is officially one week old! I know you’ve heard from me and my team a lot this past week, about goals and deadlines and how we could use your support. I’m never one to BS, so let me tell you why this first week is so critical to the long term success of this campaign.
- Reporting a strong early number signals the strength of our movement to pundits, outside groups, and other potential candidates. It can convince super PACs that might want to spend against me to just stay out of this one.
- Practically, having the resources we need early on enables us to reach voters and build a winning campaign.
I’m running because Californians deserve a Senator who will stand up to powerful special interests and lower costs for families, protect our environment, and clean up corruption. And I’m proud to be running this campaign the right way: without accepting a dime from corporate PACs, federal lobbyists, or executives from Big Oil, Big Pharma, or Wall Street Banks.
