Anchored Home Community Discussion POSTPONED!

The Anchored Home partners will postpone the Anchored Home Community Discussion, which was scheduled for January 28, 2020 with a new date to be announced. As many of you know, the Municipality of Anchorage along with partners will conduct the annual Point in Time Count on the evening of January 28, 2020. The Point in Time Count is the census of sheltered and unsheltered individuals experiencing homelessness in the community.

Volunteers will be in groups of 5-10 assigned to a certain area of town and will be paired with an experienced team lead. This is an outdoor event that will require volunteers to be able to stay outside for a few hours, be able to walk some distance on uneven ground and to interact with individuals who are experiencing homelessness in a kind and compassionate way.

Volunteers are required to attend a training session before the event to be able to participate. The training sessions will be held on:

Project Homeless Connect Needs Volunteers on Wednesday, January 22, 2020!!!

WHAT IS PROJECT HOMELESS CONNECT?
Project Homeless Connect is a one-day, one-stop event to provide housing, services, and hospitality in a convenient model directly to people experiencing homelessness in Anchorage. It is a way to bring service providers, government agencies, and the general community together to address a problem that affects everyone. The goal is to move from simply managing homelessness towards really ending it.

Come out and volunteer! This event requires hundreds of volunteers and is a great way to be part of the solution toward solving homelessness in Anchorage. To volunteer contact Heidi Hill at [email protected].

Volunteers Needed for the
2020 Point In Time (PIT) Count

Anchorage’s 2020 Point In Time (PIT) Count will take place on the evening of January 28, 2020. This count is crucial to understanding homelessness in Anchorage and directly impacts funding received at a State and Federal level. The PIT Count includes canvasing the entire Anchorage area and is heavily reliant on volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, please click here for more information on the PIT Count and how to be involved.

ACEH is seeking TWO Transition Coordinators

The Anchorage Coalition to End Homelessness is hiring for TWO new Transition Coordinator Positions.  Transition Coordinators (TCs) support the daily operation of the Anchorage Coordinated Entry System (CES).  Then Anchorage CES seeks to streamline services within the Homeless Response System for both those accessioning and those providing services.  The two positions posted support very different pieces, yet equally important pieces of CES:

  • Administrative Focus: This position supports both internal functioning and external agency partnerships.  This position is assigned to standardize, document, and monitor ongoing CES processes.  Additionally, this position is responsible for using data to monitor CES health and to implement solutions to improve core functions of the CES.  This position entails analytical thinking and the ability to build and maintain relationships across various agencies and providers. To learn more see the Transition Coordinator Job Posting – Administrative Focus
  • Coordinated Entry Access Focus: This position provides mobile access to the CES for people experiencing homelessness within the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA).  This role requires both rotation through multiple service locations and street outreach to provide direct-services to households experiencing homelessness. This role supports community partners by providing ongoing Access Point trainings.  Insight from this position will be essential in informing community-wide outreach coordination to systemically improve access to the CES for all people experiencing homelessness within the MOA.  This position entails efficient and compassionate client care and the ability to build and maintain relationships across agencies and providers.  To learn more, see our job posting Transition Coordinator Job Posting – Access Point Focus
To apply please send a cover letter, resume and completed ACEH Employment Application to [email protected].
