But that's not the point.

The point is that we are allowing ourselves to be distracted away from what matters most. While twitter was freaking out about the awkward interaction between Warren and Bernie after last night's debate, the House dropped bombshell evidence proving Trump "knew exactly what was going on" with Ukraine.

This is exactly what they want. This is exactly how they win. We cannot let ourselves be swayed like this.

This year is going to challenge us to be choiceful about where we put our energy, disciplined in holding our boundaries, and discerning in how we navigate the noise. We will need each other in this practice, to hold one another accountable to listening to the wisdom between words and to speaking higher truths. We must show them what it looks like to hold the line and keep our eyes on the prize.

And we must keep going. We cannot afford to get disheartened and burn out. Let's look out for each other to remember why we are doing this at all.

Don't take the bait. ([link removed]) While the news cycle wants to exploit a rift between Warren and Sanders, voters don't. But this feud tells us something much bigger about female presidents. The lack of belief in the possibility of a woman president — is at the heart of the “electability” narrative that has been Elizabeth Warren’s biggest roadblock so far. "What has been exposed here are some of the complicated, painful, difficult dynamics that have kept women from the presidency for the country’s entire history. ([link removed]) It's true that double standards to demands for likability make it more difficult for a woman to compete. But that does not make it impossible. Meanwhile, corporate democrats desperately want a Warren-Sanders feud.
([link removed]) No matter who your candidate is, if we want to defeat Trump, progressives need a united front. ([link removed])

IMPEACH THE MF
It's official. House Democrats voted to send the Articles of impeachment ([link removed]) to the Senate, triggering a trial. And in the words of Kara Swisher, Speaker Pelosi is a badass poker player who knows exactly when to hold ‘em. And her gamble is finally paying off. She dropped the articles on the same day new evidence came out against Trump. Lev Parnas, associate to Rudy Guiliani, adds new details suggesting surveilling and threats to the security of Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch before she was recalled from the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine. Parnas breaks his silence on Maddow ([link removed]) , saying that Trump knew about the whole thing. Please God let this be the final nail in the coffin.

THE 54%
Speaking of which, women are going to make or break Trump in 2020. 54% of white women came out for Trump in 2016 (please don't give me that "not this white woman" thing....that is not the point). And despite what Golden Globe winner Michelle Williams says, white women have always voted in their self interests ([link removed]) and it hasn't worked out that well for the rest of society. If we want a country that takes care of everyone, we need to to vote in our mutual interests, in the interests of the whole. And so white women, prepare to go get your people. ([link removed]) Meanwhile, women of color are the strongest supporters of democrats in the country and She the People ([link removed]) is leading the charge. Send them all your money.

SACRED RAGE
"Profound wisdom lives in our anger. Listen closely, beloved, she has stories to tell". While our culture has taught us that anger and rage is irrational and "too much", we know what we feel. It is righteous indignation. According to Soraya Chemaly,"It is a warning. Anger is the language of justice and fairness" ([link removed]) . It is the refusal to consent and comply with a system that continues to subjugate and oppress so many. It is the cries of our ancestors moving through us. And it is the fuel of our movement. LET'S MARCH

Just good ole fashion direct action and marching to support reproductive rights, immigration justice, #NoWarWithIran and youth empowerment. The dance written by LasTesis, a feminist performance group based in Chile, has become an iconic warcry for feminists around the world. And we are finally laying it down for the rapist in chief.
