Vladimir Putin and his thuggish band of oligarchs are responsible for the needless death, dislocation, and suffering of millions of Ukrainians. Their horrific war of aggression has destroyed communities, caused 18,000 civilian casualties, and displaced nearly 8,000,000 Ukrainian people from their homes.
For nearly a year, the Biden Administration has been holding Russia accountable — and defunding the Russian war machine — by seizing the ill-gotten yachts, luxuries, properties, and investments of Putin’s inner circle.
We’re working hard to help Ukrainians defend themselves from Russia’s illegal aggression, but Michael believes we must also do everything we can to help Ukrainians recover and rebuild from the war.

At times, outside observers mused that yet another important bill would fall to the wayside in Washington, but Michael himself never faltered. Never stopped working.
And finally, on the last day of voting in 2022, Michael’s plan to help Ukraine reached the Senate floor for a vote — and passed unanimously.
