Hi Friend,

Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

As a young man, I was honored to work under Dr. King as a civil rights organizer. Today, in the 55 years after his tragic assassination, his vision of justice, equality, and dignity for all Americans remains as one that continues to encourage Americans to take transformative social action.

Dr. King believed with all his heart that we could only create a beloved community by building bridges of goodwill to span the gaps of our differences.

I believe that remains true to this day, and that’s why I am proud to be joining No Labels as a national co-chair.

No Labels is the only national organization in America working day-in and day-out to bring our leaders together to solve our nation’s biggest problems. Along with my fellow co-chairs, former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan and former Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman, I will be a tireless advocate for more of the civility and bipartisanship that produced landmark achievements like the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

This landmark bill was born not from spewing vitriol at the other side but from a strategy that explicitly reflected Dr. King’s determination to have honest, open conversations with people who took a view different from his own.

I hope you will consider joining me on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at 5:00 PM ET to celebrate the No Labels mission and to discuss the critical work our movement has ahead of us.

If you are interested in attending, please click here. I look forward to seeing you then.

Sincerely,

Benjamin F. Chavis, Jr.
