Hi John,
In a moment, I’m going to ask if you can pitch in a grassroots contribution of $10 or more before we have to halt all fundraising starting this Wednesday, January 18, until April. But first, I hope you’ll let me explain why I’m asking for your support today.
In two more days, Aruna and I will be sworn in as your Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Maryland. This is a historic moment for our state: together, we built a diverse, inclusive movement of people from all walks of life who came together and elected me the first Black Governor of Maryland and Aruna the first woman of color Lt. Governor.
Through your contributions and volunteering, you helped us make history — and we’re ready to celebrate this achievement in style on Wednesday evening at The People’s Ball with amazing entertainers from all over the state.
Then, our work begins. Aruna and I have spent the last few months putting together a top-notch team to tackle the issues facing Marylanders and create a state that leaves no one behind.
But once the clock strikes midnight on January 18, our campaign will enter a fundraising freeze, which means we won’t be able to rebuild our resources over the next few months.
That’s why we’re giving it our all to raise $30,000 before 11:59 pm tomorrow, January 17. Can you chip in $10 or more to help us over the finish line before Inauguration Day?

Thank you so much for all you’ve done to get us here. I can’t wait to start delivering results to you and every Marylander as your new Governor.
Elevate,
Wes
