Friend -- Let me introduce myself. I’m Preston, MJ’s campaign manager.

I’ve worked on a lot of tough races over the years and have seen what kind of candidates can get the job done. MJ has the mix of tenacity and leadership needed to defeat John Cornyn, win Texas’ Senate seat, and make sure we have a Senator who actually works for the people.

That’s not to say this race will be an easy one. John Cornyn has spent nearly two decades in the Senate cozying up to big donors, and has taken millions in corporate PAC money over the years. So, it’s no surprise that as a Senator, he has put the interests of his big donors over those of the people: he voted to gut protections for millions of Texans with pre-existing conditions; he voted against a bill that would have reduced the price of prescription drugs; he voted to undo financial protections that would benefit deployed servicemembers. The list goes on and on.

Meanwhile, MJ’s a fighter. She served three tours in Afghanistan and she took on the government to help open ground combat roles to women. We deserve better and we can do better with your help.

And here’s the other reason we need MJ to win: The path to taking back control of the Senate goes straight through Texas. If we want to send Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn packing and start passing policies that actually help Americans, we need to win this race.

Friend, grassroots support will be absolutely critical to defeating John Cornyn. He’s an entrenched incumbent with big bucks behind him. So we need to build a massive people-powered campaign to successfully take him on -- and that starts with you.
