Hello John --
Today we join the rest of our country in celebrating and remembering the life and accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King made monumental strides in the American Civil Rights movement and it’s incredibly important that we take this day each year to reflect on how far we’ve come and how far we still have to go to achieve racial equality in America.
Dr. King once said, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” This is one of my favorite MLK quotes and I try to live my life by this. My staff at MDP and I are fully committed to using positivity and hope to create a better future for all people across Montana – a future that Dr. King would have been proud of.
Take time today to educate yourself on American Civil Rights history. Below, I’ve attached a link with resources compiled by Black Americans.
