John,

Last night during his State of the State Address, Governor Holcomb set a goal
of TRIPLING federal defense investment in our state.

This is a tall order in a state with an already robust defense industry and
key national defense resources Crane, Muscatatuck, and Atterbury. But Governor
Holcomb is committed to taking the industry to the Next Level.

No state is better positioned to develop the future of defense technologies
like radar, sonar, hypersonics, and drones than Indiana.

This week, Eric wanted to share how Indiana is already making a positive
impact on our country’s armed forces. Take a look at some of Indiana’s biggest
contributions below:

* The Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division (Martin County) is the
third-largest naval base in the world.
* Terre Haute 181st Intel Wing (Vigo County) controls drones in the Middle
East.
* Muscatatuck Urban Training Center (Jennings County) is the largest
counter-terrorism training site in the United States.
* Grissom Aeroplex (Miami & Cass Counties) has a runway measuring 12.501 by
200 feet, making it one of the longest in the United States.
* Indiana National Guard currently has the 3rd largest National Guard troop
level.
* Grissom Air Reserve Base (Cass & Miami Counties) is home to the 434th Air
Refueling Wing, the largest KC-135 unit in the Air Force Reserve.
* By 2024, all military pensions will be exempt from Indiana state income tax.
* This spring, Indiana will open the first facility in the country that
brings together everything our veterans need—VA, courts, veterans organization
and more—all under one roof!

For 203 years now, Indiana has contributed greatly to our national defense
and, under Governor Holcomb, we’ll continue to do so in the years ahead.
