John,

When I think of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s legacy, I am reminded of the
power of his words. In a time of great injustice, Dr. King's words cut
through decades of violent segregation and devastating poverty, inspiring
millions of people to action.

Dr. King taught us that we must speak truth to power, and we must do it
over and over again. He taught us that the time is always now to fight for
what is right.

In a time of rising political violence, vicious xenophobia, and economic
inequality, these are the words that resonate with me now more than ever.
I hope they will bring you strength and remind you that we are in this
fight together — always.

“We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted
with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and
history, there is such a thing as being too late. There is no time for
apathy or complacency. This is a time for vigorous and positive action.”

— Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1967

Thank you for fighting with me,

Pramila
