Here at Fairness Project, we believe the potential to make real progress on racial inequity exists everywhere. We can’t just rely on protections at the federal level — we know the real work needs to happen in the neighborhoods, towns, and cities we call home. We believe that on the ground, at the grassroots level is where we can turn potential into policy.

That’s why today, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy, we’re recommitting to do the work necessary alongside voters to enact racial, social, and economic fairness for all.

Dr. King and his allies laid out the vital framework. Now, it’s up to our generation to make good on those old hopes and promises.

From enacting livable wages to necessary checks and balances on policing, to providing affordable and accessible health care, paid leave protections, and so much more, we’re recommitting to the fight for real fairness.

Today, we reflect on Dr. King’s long, impactful career of social justice activism, and think about how our work can aspire to meet his urgent political demand for justice.
