John,

I hope you’ll join me today in reflecting on and honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a man who bent the long arc of the moral universe towards justice. His words and actions are as important and relevant today as they were 60 years ago.

Despite all the challenges we face, I believe there is still more that unites us as Americans than divides us. We must heed the words of Dr. King, that we are all “tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly."
