John,
Today we celebrate the life and legacy of a true American hero, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. was a civil rights leader who dedicated his life to fighting for justice, equality, and freedom for all. Thanks to his work, we've made incredible strides in these important fights. But it's clear we have a long way to go to achieve the dream that Dr. King envisioned for our nation.
As we deal with the challenges we face in the fight for progress, I am often reminded of one of my favorite quotes from Dr. King: "Even in the inevitable moments when all seems hopeless, men know that without hope they cannot really live, and in agonizing desperation, they cry for the bread of hope."
Even in challenging times, we must remain hopeful. We must continue to stand up, deliver change, and ensure Dr. King's legacy is secure for every American – something I will continue to do as your congressman.
I hope you'll join me today in honoring Dr. King's legacy and recommit yourself to the fight for equity and justice.
Thank you,
Matt
