Friend,
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly."
— Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. "Letter from Birmingham Jail," April 16, 1963
Today, we honor the life and legacy that inspires me every day: Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The celebration of this day and the memory of Dr. King is a reminder that we’ve made progress over the decades, but there is still uncertainty and divisiveness. We must continue to fight the hate and division we are witnessing still to this day.
We have to overcome this hate and focus on progress and moving forward.
I hope that you will join me today in honoring Dr. King’s words. I encourage everyone to treat each other with kindness, empathy, and compassion. Stand up for what is right and come together to protect our democracy.
Thank you,
-- Debbie
