The threats facing this country are numerous and at times may seem overwhelming, BUT progressives are fired up more than ever to save the American Way from Trump and Trumpism!
Just this month, there are several progressive anniversaries (some that we celebrate, while others … not so much) that should remind each of us what is at stake in the 2020 election. Next week we will have the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s landmark decisions in Roe v. Wade which enshrined reproductive freedoms, Citizens United vs. FEC which allowed unchecked spending in our elections, alongside the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and the fourth anniversary of Trump’s inauguration.
With these important reminders of key issues like choice and gender equality, money in politics, racial justice, voting rights, economic justice, and, yes, the fact that Trump is our president – but hopefully we’ll be swearing in a new one, a year from this Monday – we really want to know what issues are driving your activism and civic engagement in this critical election year!
There are so many hurdles to securing progressive victory in the election this fall: Republicans continuing to enable the worst of Trump’s behavior, ongoing foreign meddling leading up to the election, massive amounts of Republican fundraising, disinformation spread on social media, and more. But none of these can prevent progressive victories and with your ongoing support and engagement, we can successfully push back and win this fall!
