John, as we begin a new year, 1 in 6 of the world’s children is growing up in a conflict zone. Nearly 11 million children across the United States are living in poverty. And because of the climate crisis, every child alive right now is facing a future with more severe weather events than ever before. With the soaring cost of living combined with conflict and climate disasters, children are facing record levels of hunger and malnutrition around the world... one child is falling into severe malnutrition every minute in 15 crisis-hit countries.
Alongside dedicated champions for children like you, we’re working to address these problems and others so that all the world’s children have a chance to grow up healthy, educated and safe. But it simply isn’t enough. Lawmakers need to take action, too, and enact legislation that prioritizes children’s needs.
As Congress kicks off a new session, our sister organization, Save the Children Action Network (SCAN), needs 20,000 caring supporters – including you, John – to join them and demand lawmakers prioritize children’s needs in 2023. Will you add your name now to be an advocate for children?
Protecting refugee children, increasing funding for humanitarian emergencies and investing in child care, early education and nutrition programs are just a few steps Congress can and must take to ensure children across the globe have the bright futures they deserve.
