Andrew Takes Action To Address New York Crime Crisis During First Week of 118th Congress
During the first full week of the 118th Congress, Andrew took action to address rising crime in New York and across the country. First, he joined with Rep. Elise Stefanik and the entire New York Republican Delegation in cosponsoring legislation which would incentivize states like New York to invest in our police departments, take steps to hire and retain more officers, and implement polices to keep dangerous criminals off the streets instead of allowing repeat offenders to go free time and time again. Andrew also cosponsored bill to specifically address retail crime and the smash and grab robberies which have plagued NYC and Long Island in recent months. Retail crimes not only greatly impact the livelihoods of businesses owners big and small, but can also lead to additional crime such as the sale of stolen goods on black markets to fund drug and human trafficking crimes. The Improving Federal Investigations of Organized Retail Crime Act would empower federal law enforcement to collaborate with all law enforcement agencies, coordinate a response, and execute a plan of action to thwart these organized criminal efforts. CASEWORK HIGHLIGHT: Securing VA Benefits For Navy Veteran
A 95 year old Sayville resident and Navy veteran recently contacted our office after applying for VA benefits in May of 2022 and receiving no response for more than 6 months with continual follow ups. Andrew's casework team was able to reach out to the VA and expedite the entitlement to a special monthly pension based on the need for aid and attendance, which will be back paid from the effective date of the benefits last May.
Andrew knows how frustrating dealing with bureaucracy can be. That is why he has an entire team dedicated to helping constituents get what they need for the federal government. If you need help dealing with a federal agency, contact our office and our team will get to work on your case.

Andrew Votes To Defund IRS Army of Auditors
This week, Andrew voted to pass a bill he cosponsored, the Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act, to withdraw funding allocated for the IRS to hire 87,000 new auditors and prevent a supercharged IRS from targeting middle class families, small businesses, and hardworking Americans who are already struggling during this economic crisis. This is just the start of House Republicans delivering on our Commitment To America.
