“Maxwell Frost Devotes First Speech to Defending Abortion Rights”
John – this week, I gave my first speech on the House floor as a member of Congress to call out Republican leaders’ continued attacks on abortion rights.
They’re continuing to weaponize abortion access, putting the lives of countless women at risk for their own political gain – all the while pushing the narrative that they’re the “pro-life” party.
It’s bad enough on paper, but it’s personal, too. My district in Central Florida is home to countless people facing the consequences of these attacks. Our Republican governor (Ron DeSantis, maybe you’ve heard of him?) and anti-choice state lawmakers have already passed a 15-week abortion ban.
These far-right crusaders won’t stop until abortion access is cut off entirely. But let me make this clear: abortion is a fundamental right.
I’ll keep fighting to protect this right – not just in Congress, but on the streets, alongside those most impacted by these attacks on bodily autonomy.
This is the kind of leader I am and will continue to be in Congress, but I’m going head-to-head with an anti-choice majority. We need our campaign firing on all cylinders to keep me in the fight.
