John, we need to keep facts in our political discourse. And this week is a stark reminder of why.

From the first day of his presidency, Donald Trump has tried to undermine the Affordable Care Act, and Lee Zeldin has voted to eliminate the law, remove pre-existing conditions coverage, and kick more than 20 million Americans, including 71,000 NY-01 constituents, off their health insurance. Now, after a grassroots movement stopped their repeal efforts in Congress, the Trump Administration is leading an effort in our courts to get rid of the law.

But Trump is now claiming that he "saved" protections for pre-existing conditions. He's trying to muddy the waters because he knows that the truth hurts him and his Congressional allies like Lee Zeldin. And Zeldin's allies -- Trump's network -- are going to spend heavily this year to distort the facts. It's the only way they can win.

That's why our voter contact efforts are going to be critical in setting the record straight. And we're preparing to officially launch our field program soon!

That’s why at Stony Brook University, I worked with the administrative leaders to ensure that all university researchers had adequate healthcare coverage. In Congress, I will fight every day to make sure that healthcare is treated as a human right for us all. And I find it offensive when Republicans lie about their repressive record.
