Dear John,

Starting this month, Social Security beneficiaries may see an 8.7% benefit increase, the  most significant single-year benefit increase since 1981. The historic Cost-Of-Living Adjustment will help Americans keep up with rising costs to keep the lights on and put food on the table.

If you are receiving Social Security, you should have received a letter from the Social Security Administration detailing your specific benefit rate for the new year. The payment you received in January should reflect this new amount.

If you missed this letter, you can verify your increase online at SSA.gov/myaccount. If you have any questions or need assistance, please call my District Office at (860) 223-8412.

I am committed to continuing to deliver on the promise of Social Security. Seniors should not have to dip into their emergency savings for everyday expenses.

Please do not hesitate to contact me or my office for further assistance with the Social Security Administration or another federal agency.
