[ [link removed] ]Thankful to start the year with you - The Color Of Change Team

John,

As we enter the start of a new year and take time to reflect, I wanted to
express how deeply grateful I am for you and your continued support of
Color Of Change. Our work to win real change for Black folks wouldn’t be
possible without the dedication of members like you, and I’m extremely
proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish together.

In 2020, we saw millions of Americans speaking out and taking to the
streets during the summer uprisings against police violence. We saw racial
justice become a powerful motivating force inspiring voters to fight back
against racist voter suppression and get to the polls in record numbers.

In 2021 and 2022, we fought to continue building on the big wins that mass
organizing achieved and to force politicians and corporations alike to
deliver on the promises and anti-racist commitments they made to us. With
your help, we’ve run campaigns to demand prison phone justice across the
nation and to empower communities to pressure their elected officials to
hold police accountable and direct funding toward evidence-based public
safety initiatives. We’ve run campaigns to hold Big Tech accountable,
compelling companies to implement structural changes and new policies to
remove dangerous misinformation and stop racial abuse and harassment.
We’ve run campaigns to protect our communities from the harms of the
pandemic and get relief to folks affected by natural disasters.

But while the movement for racial justice is driving progress, we still
face challenges to convert our momentum into the systemic wins that matter
most. We know that the forces working against Black liberation are strong
no matter who is in control of our government. And we know that we will
always lose in the back rooms of politics, unless we have millions of
people lined up at the front door.

It will take all of us joining together to deliver the structural change
we need. So keep it up. We need to keep raising our voices. We need to
keep inviting allies to do the work with us. We need to grow our efforts
to change the written and unwritten rules of our society. I have seen our
power in action, and I know that we can get it done.

I’m humbled and inspired to be moving forward in the fight for justice
with folks like you by our side. I’m wishing you and your loved ones a
joyful beginning to the new year.

Until Justice Is Real,
